Structures and Strategies
The projects in this group apply the methodologies of
close textual analysis to representative selections from our evolving database
of science novels and related works. They focus on narrative forms and aesthetic
strategies, identifying the innovations in literary technique associated with
representations of science in fiction. Here we explore the possibility of a
distinct generic identity for the science novel and its relationship to other other
forms.
